Kite fishing in Miami is another method of saltwater fishing used aboard New Moon Sportfishing to catch kingfish, tuna, wahoo, sailfish, mahi-mahi, marlin and sharks.
It was invented by the Chinese over 2000 years ago and perfected by Miami charter boat fisherman. It’s another way of exposing the live bait on the surface of the water as the fish move through our coastal migratory path of the Florida Straight.

Kite Fishing can be utilized at anchor fishing, drift fishing or power drifting.
Fishing with kites is especially useful when trying to catch sailfish because it keeps the bait on top of the water.
New Moon Sportfishing and its experienced crew are fine tuned to kite fishing. We fish a minimum of three lines per kite. We will put as many as three kites out at one time, which gives each angler on board the opportunity to catch plenty of fish.
Kite fishing is available on half-day and full-day charters. If we got the wind, we’re going kite fishing!
